California
California is a 10 year old Warmblood x Appaloosa gelding standing 16 hands high. If this horse doesn't check all of the boxes, then I don't know what one will. He is absolutely safe for anyone, is simply a joy under saddle, and has the kind and sweet personality that everyone wants. At his age, he has had plenty of experience doing all of the jobs. He has hunted, shown with kids at 4h events, camped, trail rode with husbands and guests, and everything in between! He is broke both western and English, is reliable and so FUN out on the cross country field, at working equitation clinics, and in lessons. He will cross any terrain on the trails like it's a walk in the park. California is truly is one of a kind in every way, everyone in the family can safely ride and enjoy him. He has the right movement and talent to be successful in the show ring, and the brains and sensibility to teach first timers or pack the kids and husband around. Did I mention he has the most comfortable and easy canter of all time? I promise you will not want to get off once you get going!
In the arena, California is dreamy. His gaits are extremely comfortable and balanced, and he has great adjustability. Put together dressage tests, throw the kids up for a lesson, or let friends and guests ride him safely. He is the perfect mix of whoa and go, and doesn't mind a timid or beginner rider making mistakes. Over fences, he is point and shoot. You can do a triple ad, leave one out, or see no distance at all and he will always get you to the other side. He will jump around the cross country field, and will jump a course in the ring like a hunter.
On the trails, California is a trail master deluxe! Deep water, steep hills, mud, busy roads, livestock running about, or hounds are no worry to him. California maintains his cool in all situations, and has been a perfect gentleman in all the places we have taken him. From clinics, lessons, off property schooling, and trail rides, California comes off the trailer like he's been there a million times and goes right to work. He is a great, "Go anywhere and do anything", type of horse.
In the barn, California has the best personality you'll find. If you want a horse that's well-mannered, yet in your pocket - here is your guy. He genuinely loves people. The kids can climb all over him while he patiently stands and nuzzles their heads. I would let him live in the house with us like a dog if I could, he is just so great to be around! California is happy living inside or out, and is the easiest of keepers.
We have a recent, clean vet check on file.
