Jones

Jones is the ultimate been there, done that, seen it all before gelding. Whether you need a seasoned, reliable horse to add to your string, or you're just starting out and need a horse that knows more than you do; Jones is the man for the job. Aside from being an expert in all aspects of ranch work, Jones is also no stranger to camping in the mountains, teaching beginner lessons, and even jumping. Jones has always gotten his riders home in one piece no matter how rugged the terrain, or wild the moonlight trail ride was. Jones is the type of horse, that no matter the job, no matter the time off, and no matter the rider, he gets it done safely and leaves his rider feeling confident! He will be an asset to anyone who values a solid, experienced, safe horse.

Jones is a 14 year old Quarter Horse gelding standing a sturdy 15.3 hands high. He's the perfect horse to live out your "Yellowstone" dreams on. He's the horse you know your kids will be safe with, and never be bored with either. Rope in the pasture one day, camp on the weekend, and take him to a 4h show and jump around the next! Want to get the husband to enjoy your equestrian lifestyle with you? Jones is the guy for the job. Go out to rope in the pasture, tie one off, go get lunch, and Jones will be standing like a statue in the same spot you left him. He is an asset on the ranch, and reliable enough for the kids or guests to hop on and join in on the action with.

In the arena, Jones is point and shoot. He is comfortable, easy, and listens well to his rider. He doesn't mind a rider that's nervous, timid, or off balance, just goes along and does his job. He will pop around fences in the ring, and on the cross country course, and puts together basic dressage tests. Under western tack, he has a great neck rein, side passes, turns around, and has a good stop.

On the trails and on the ranch is where Jones has most of his miles. He has a lot of cow and is a blast to sort on. In the pasture he has plenty of run, stout to the horn and is our top pick when doctoring alone. He will open and close gates, carry you through deep mud, and  doesn't mind diving off in the middle of a pond to catch a cow (see video). He is the ATV of horses! Jones is safe in heavy traffic, around hounds, and just as steady riding alone as he is in a group. He will step over ditches, swim, and stand quietly as a freight train rolls by.

Aside from all of Jones' great qualities, the most important one of all is you can leave him off one day, or six months, and you will always know you are getting the same safe, reliable mount every time you climb aboard.

Jones is an easy guy to have around that's happy living inside or out. He gets along well in the pasture with other geldings, mares, and colts. Jones is a good boy in his stall, and is polite in the barn.

Jones requires no maintenance and is an easy keeper.
