Junior

unior is a 4 year old draft x pony gelding standing 14.2 hands high. He has a draft horse brain, in a large pony sized body. He’s a great size, taller adults can ride him and look suitable, and kids, smaller adults, and timid riders, can still feel comfortable and safe on his back. This guy was made to fox hunt. Though he has talents in many other areas, I can just see this guy being the hunt partner of a lifetime. He’s brave as they come, both over fences, and with all types of terrain. He will ride off alone, stand when asked, and has proven to be unflappable in all of the different situations we have put him in. He has been so fun and honest! Junior is drama free, and as sweet as can be! He’s the first to the gate to greet you, and is just a good honest, all around guy. 

 

In the ring, Junior will pick up both leads, ride round in the bridle, or on a loose rein. The kids ride him out around hunt country and on the obstacle course with ease. He is an absolute blast on the cross country field! There’s no jump that phases him, he’s the type to always get you to the other side. We haven’t started to school him over fences in the ring, but most of his miles are out over xc, and hunter pace type of jumping. He easily pops over coupes, logs, ditches, brush, and more! He goes up and down banks, and has no worries about fill or “spooky” jumps. 

 

On the trails and off property, you can put anyone, even a first timer, on his back and go out for a ride. He crosses all obstacles, swims, and is safe in traffic. He’s wise beyond his years, and acts like a seasoned professional in all of the new places we have brought him. 

 

In the barn, Junior is everyone’s favorite. He has impeccable ground manners, especially for a young horse, and a kind nature. He loves being loved on, and loves being part of a family. Junior lives outside in a herd of mares and geldings, and is easy to catch. He is an easy keeper with no vices or maintenance.
