Oberon
Dreaming of big, beautiful, and brave? This is your guy -- sturdy to cover any terrain, bold to jump any fence in front of him, and so handsome that he looks like he stepped straight of the set of an action film. Oberon is a 4 year old Percheron x Quarter Horse gelding standing 16.1 hands high. He is ready for any job, and prepared for any scenario. Aside from his education in the ring, he has also completed Mounted Patrol preparation, hunter paces, has attended various clinics, and is a blast on the cross country field. Sturdy and steady enough for the husband, well versed enough for the ranch, and still has the athletic ability and cadence to learn the ropes in the dressage ring, hunt, or event field. Oberon is the best of all worlds, wrapped up into one solid package.
In the arena, Oberon will ride English or western. He picks up both leads, has a great stop, and listens well to voice commands. He will ride on a loose rein, or ride round in the bridle. He is starting to put together intro dressage tests, and has an understanding of basic lateral work. He would be a great choice for working equitation too! He lopes good circles, neck reins, and has good transitions. Say "whoa" and he will stop, every time, no matter what!
On the trails, Oberon has lots of miles. He crosses water, roads, banks, and deep mud with ease. He has ridden right along side of freight trains without blinking an eye, and has proven to be sure footed and smart on all types of terrain. He is used to loading up to ride in new places too. We have taken him on lots of trail rides, hunter paces, and off property to school and lesson on. He is great to trailer and travel with, and is no drama and easy to bring new places.
In the barn, Oberon is a big goofball. He is respectful and aware of his size, but so sweet and loves his people. He enjoys being groomed and loved on and would probably try to live in your house with you if he could fit through the door! Oberon is a good boy for all of the usual barn activities, and has no quirks or vices. Oberon is happy living inside or out, and gets along well with his pasture mates.
