Pilot
Pilot is, without question, one of the best-behaved and most well-rounded Warmbloods that we have ever owned. A 13 year old, 17.2hh Rhineland gelding, he is the true epitome of education, elegance, and personality. He is a genuine pleasure in every aspect of his life — impeccable in the barn, quiet and gentlemanly on the ground, and an absolute dream under saddle. It is exceptionally rare to find a Warmblood that can confidently step into any show ring like professional one day, so lunge lessons with the kids, then pack up in a western saddle to trail ride, ride through town, or happily carry guests the next. Pilot is safe, confident, and unflappable in new places, jumps whatever he’s pointed at, and is the ultimate confidence builder — educated and responsive without ever being overly sensitive, forgiving, and always willing to take a joke.
In the ring, Pilot is like riding a cloud. He has three quality, comfortable, gaits and seamless transitions. He is suitable for beginners and pros alike! He knows every move in the book, and is a great teacher. He has flying changes, knows all the lateral work, and is soft in the bridle. Ride him on the buckle, do lunge line lessons, or put together a dressage test - Pilot is happy doing any job and has a great attitude. His gaits are extremely adjustable and easy to ride and sit. He will jump whatever is put in front of him, and has miles up to 1.20. He jumps like an equitation horse, smooth and flat, no jumping his rider out of the tack.
Off property and on the trails, Pilot is a dream. He is one of the few warmbloods that I ever felt 100% solid on out on the trails. He swims, crosses any terrain like an Irish fox hunter, and will jump any fences or obstacles you come across. In new places, Pilot is a professional. He has been there - done that, and does not change his quiet personality in new or busy places. He hops right on the trailer and stands politely.
In the barn, Pilot is one of our favorites. He is polite, gentle, and sweet as can be. We body clipped this entire horse, ears and all, with no halter on. And not only did he stand like a statue - he fell asleep! I love having this guy around, he is so easy to do everything with and just a pleasure to be around. He is happy living outside or in, and gets along well with his pasture mates. He is an easy keeper, and even easier to love!
