Snackpack
Snackpack is a 7 year old Quarter Pony gelding standing 13.2 hands high. Looking for the pony that your kid won't outgrow in 6 months because they "Don't want to ride western anymore" and now it's "all about the jumpers"? Snackpack is an all in one, fun and useful for kids and adults alike. When you imagine the game little ponies hunting alongside the big horses in the Irish countryside, this is the pony you picture. He is the pony version of a 4-wheeler. He tackles any terrain, jumps all the jumps, and can keep up with the big dogs, all with a good head on his shoulders. He is the perfect choice for a keen kid, or smaller adult that wants to be able to do all of the things, while staying close to the ground. When I was a kid I wished and wished for a pony like this! He is the perfect gaming, playday, or gymkhana mount. Take him to the rodeo and do the games and speed events Friday night, and clean up to hunt Saturday. Snackpack is game for absolutely anything you can dream up. He would love the pony eventing job, being a hunt pony, or doing what he does here - which is a little of everything! If you (or your kid) can't decide if they want to be a cowgirl, an eventer, a trick rider, or the next pony jumper champion-- Good news! You won't need to buy 3 different ponies, Snackpack will do all the things, and look good doing it.
Is Snackpack the pony for your timid kid just learning to trot or fresh off the lead line? Probably not. Though he has absolutely led our little ones around on the lead and lunge line, Snackpack is more of a "Lets do all the things" instead of a "let's walk in a circle". He is the one stop shop for the rider who thinks, "I wanna try that!" He is not for a total beginner, but he is perfect for someone who can already ride a bit, and wants to enjoy a versatile and game pony. He has three very smooth gaits, a super jump, and tons of miles outside of the ring on all terrain. He has pushed cows, camped, and gone on hunter paces. He is not speedy or hot, but he is not a dead head. He goes when asked, and slows down or stops when you ask as well - giving him the perfect amount of motor to hunt, event, or anything else you can dream up. He knows the difference between work and play, and will happily trail ride on a loose rein to relax, or pick up the pace and keep up with the big horses on hunter paces.
Snackpack is a total ham, and loves his people. He is the easiest of keepers, and is happy living inside or out.
We have a recent, clean vet check on file.
